General

Solar panels convert sunlight to electricity. This direct current (DC) is turned into alternating current (AC) via micro inverters on each panel, allowing your home to use the energy.

No initial investment is needed. If you can handle your current utility bill, you can easily switch to solar without any upfront costs, ensuring lower electricity rates for years.

By adopting solar, you reduce your carbon footprint significantly, akin to planting many acres of trees.

Homes with solar installations tend to sell quicker and at higher prices due to reduced utility costs.

You will still receive a utility bill, which includes a minimal grid connection fee and possibly credits for any excess energy your system produces.

Increases in your utility bill may occur if your electricity usage rises, even with solar.

The typical project duration is around 60-90 days, though this can vary based on factors like city permits.

Your solar production may dip during poor weather conditions or if panels are covered by snow, but generally balances out with higher production in sunny months.

Pre-Installation
Once your project is funded, your loan is managed by the lender and we do not have access to your account information. Your lender will provide you with information of who to contact should you have questions. Because we have a good relationship with our lending partners, you’re always welcome to reach out to us and we will do our best help connect you with the lender.

Infinity Solar does not provide tax advice as individual situations vary. Please consult your tax advisor or CPA regarding your estimated refund amount after applying your tax incentive on your return. Should you choose to apply any tax refund toward the remaining loan principal, contact your lender to process the payment and provide an updated payment schedule.

Typically, a solar project loan consists of two monthly payment amounts. You will have a reduced monthly payment for the first year and half. After that, the payment amount will increase. Please refer to the detailed payment schedule section in your loan documents.
Many local governing jurisdictions and/or utility companies are taking longer to complete the inspections and meter work. The demand for solar energy is skyrocketing and the local governing jurisdictions are often understaffed for the demand. While this delay is not caused by Infinity Solar USA, we understand the inconvenience to our customers and want the experience of “going solar” to be a positive one for you. Should your first payment come due before you receive permission to operate, contact our finance team at finance@infinitysolarusa.com for assistance.
The approximate age of your roof, the year your electric panel was replaced or installed, or any future landscaping changes that could affect shading on the roof would be helpful to know. Sometimes homeowners have copies of structural drawings of their home which would also be helpful.
You can contact your operations team member should you need to reschedule your site survey. We would appreciate 24-hour notice for any rescheduling needs if possible.
The site survey will not affect your electricity access.

We’ll need you to show us interior features, like the electric panel and attic. While we’d prefer that the homeowner be present for the entire appointment, the surveyor can complete the exterior assessment
without the customer, if necessary.

Infinity Solar USA is one of the few companies that operate in solar that also do roofing. There are multiple tax advantages in upgrading your roof while purchasing solar. Infinity can complete both solar and roofing installs.

Yes! Our in-house CAD team reduces our design expenses, allowing us to be more competitive when pricing our projects. It also allows us to adjust our designs quickly when the permitting and HOA departments request changes.

We want our customers to be happy with the end product and we will do our best to accommodate requests. Our primary goal is to engineer your design to maximize solar panel efficiency and overall
production. Layout changes may reduce your array’s production and may not fully offset your usage. We will work with you to ensure you get the design that makes the most sense for you.

Often, drawing the initial CAD doesn’t take long. However, edit requests from the city, county, or your HOA
may prolong the process.

The drawing presented in your proposal is an example of how the panels will look on your roof. The key difference on the actual CAD drawing is the orientation of the panels. Your CAD design will show the actual measurements of your roof which many times allows us to fit more panels on the roof than originally
purposed this will oftentimes lead to greater energy production than originally designed.

Local permitting jurisdictions determine the requirements for solar panel installations. The most common permits address structural and electrical requirements.

Our team works diligently to ensure there is no wasted time on our end. Once the application gets to the
local permitting jurisdiction, there is not much we can do to speed up the process. Rest assured, our team is following up consistently and doing everything we can to get your project permitted as quickly as possible.

After installation, one of our install crew will orient you to the system and show you how to properly operate
it. However, the system will need to be inspected and the utility company will need to replace your meter before you have permission to operate. This process can take up to 45 days depending on the local
jurisdiction’s inspection schedule and your utility company’s lead time. Please do not turn on the system
prior to the final inspection and installation of your new meter by your utility company. Turning on your system early may result in significant charges from your utility company.

You may lose power on install day. However, the length of your power loss will depend on the scope of your installation and system size. The power could be off for as short as a few minutes or as long as several hours. Please discuss with your electrician on install day to plan the timing of the power loss.

Only turn on your system after the local jurisdiction has completed their inspections and the utility company
has changed the meter. Turning on your system early may result in significant charges from your utility
company.

Occasionally, the installation may take longer to complete than expected. This could be due to a part failure,
an unexpected electrical issue, the solar panels need to be repositioned, or some other structural delay that
was not anticipated. Should that happen, the lead installer on-site will inform you of the delay and escalate
the project to the Construction Manager and scheduling team to address the issue and schedule a time for
our install crew to complete the remaining work on your project.

You can email or call your solar coordinator or project manager to reschedule. We ask for a 72-hour notice
for any rescheduling needs if possible.

Post-Installation

Infinity Solar warrants that all work shall be executed in accordance with the agreement, provided in a workmanlike manner consistent with industry standards, and will be free from workmanship defects for a period of ten (10) years from the completion date of the project. In addition, your solar panels and other products installed carry a manufacturer’s warranty (commonly 25 years). We will provide the manufacturer’s warranty information upon completion of your installation.

The amount of energy your solar panels produce directly correlates to their size and the amount of daylight they receive.
In winter months, for example, there is less sunlight so the panels will produce less energy. Conversely, your system will produce more energy in the spring and summer months when the days are longer. Over the course of the year, your
system should produce the energy reflected in your solar proposal. We recommend allowing your system to operate at
least six months to accurately assess the energy production.

Typically, your utility company will accrue net meter credits for a certain period. Most utility companies use an annual billing cycle and on some occasions you can roll them over year to year. In the case of an annual bill cycle, you can continue to accrue as many credits as your system generates during this time. However, if the credits are not used by the end of the cycle, they cannot be rolled over.

Only turn on your system after the local jurisdiction has completed their inspections and the utility company has
changed the meter. Turning on your system early may result in significant charges from your utility company.

Once we’ve received the electrical permits from the city’s inspection, it takes anywhere from three business days to four
weeks for the utility company to switch out the meter. We’ve noticed that larger companies like PGE tend to be faster
than smaller utility co-ops in remote areas. Another important factor that affects how quickly your utility company can
switch your meter is power outages caused by emergencies or bad weather. Utility companies prioritize power outages
due to extreme weather or accidents first. In this case, you might experience a delay in your net metering process.
